GoCar Malaysia, a leading on-demand mobility-as-a-service platform, has made its GoEV electric car sharing service even more affordable with the implementation of newly revised rates. Hourly rates have been reduced by close to 30 percent while bookings for 30 days and above now cost almost 50 percent less.
The price reduction is in line with GoCar’s ongoing efforts to expand the EV driving experience in mainstream Malaysia by making GoEV more accessible to the general public.
Available for Round Trip bookings, the hourly rate for GoEV Share is now RM17.90 (down from RM24.90 per hour). GoCar has also reduced the daily rates to RM179 from the previous RM249 per day.
Rates for longer-term bookings of 30 days and above are even more attractive at RM120 per day compared to RM232 per day before the rate adjustments.

100% electric, ideal for urban driving
While EVs have been gaining popularity in recent years, one common concern that persists in hindering the mass adoption of EVs is range anxiety.
In reality, a battery electric vehicle (BEV) on a single full charge can travel more than 200 km, which is sufficient for daily urban driving in Malaysia.
With GoEV, users can have peace of mind while experiencing EV driving in the city for the following reasons:
>Sufficient range for city driving. The GoEV fleet mainly comprises the fully-electric Nissan Leaf, which comes with a 40 kWh battery that enables a maximum travel distance of 311km* on a single charge.
>Power back with regenerative braking. The Leaf’s electric 320 Nm motor delivers quick acceleration (0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds) and, more importantly, enables regenerative braking. This key feature adds power back to the battery to enhance the vehicle’s range.
>Enhanced range with e-Pedal. Drivers can also boost the volume of regenerative braking by employing the one-pedal, e-Pedal system. Additionally, shifting into B-mode when going downhill further increases the regenerative braking enhancing range.
>Free AC charging with complimentary chargEV card. Each GoEV vehicle comes with a chargEV card (located at the sun visor), courtesy of GoCar.
As such, GoEV users do not need to sign up and pay for the annual chargEV membership to enjoy free usage of chargEV’s AC chargers. Use of the fast DC chargers (CHAdeMO and CCS2), however, is chargeable based on chargEV’s rates.
Worry-free charging compatibility. While the Nissan Leaf comes with a Type 1 connector, most AC chargers in Malaysia are fitted with Type 2 charging outlets. To address compatibility issues, GoCar provides a Type-2 to Type-1 EV adaptor, which can be found with the Leaf’s charging cable in the boot of each GoEV vehicle.
Convenient viewing of GoEV and JomCharge charging stations on one app. Following the integration with the JomCharge mobile platform, GoEV users can now view charger locations and availability on both the GoEV and JomCharge platforms directly via the GoCar mobile app.
JomCharge is one of the largest DC networks in the country, located along the North-South Expressway.
